Florida Scrub Jay (Aphelocoma coerulescens)
|
||
About this photo:Recently, the birding powers that be split Scrub Jays into three separate species. This one, found only in Florida, was now available for us to add to our life list. We found them exactly where they are supposed to be, in a state park near Sarasota. (Notice that this bird is banded.) A sign implored us not to feed the Jays. Tish had trouble abiding by that interdiction: this bird flew to her hand and took a bite of her sandwich. |
