This Flightless Cormorant seems confused about the right way to go. Look at the feet on this bird! With feet like that it's small wonder they don't fly.

These are among the rarest seabirds on the islands, numbering about 800 pairs.

Master and Commander featured this bird in an important scene. We kept looking for the place in the islands where the scene was filmed. Sadly, we never found it and suspect that the exact location may be on a sound stage in California.
