Sightseeing in Style

About this photo:We did some careful math and figured out that we could hire a limo and driver for the day, given that we had six people to use it. Linda and Marion had the idea independently. Charles's egalitarian instincts were ruffled. He said we could go on the Metro just as easily. Linda and Marion had the same reply, arrived at independently, "Well, it's a good thing he's not making the arrangements." While the main benefit of hiring a limo for the day is the ability to plan your visit without worrying about parking, a side benefit is that people think you are someone important. When we were picked up at the Lincoln Memorial, we had several other tourists who took photos and videos of us getting into the car. I'm sure they have emailed all their friends with "You'll never guess who we saw in Washington!" as the subject line. |
