Linda on a Segway

About this photo:We didn't spend our time in the DC area touring the Capital; we also checked out the sights in that other capital, Annapolis, MD. Part of our tour was conducted on Segways, those people movers you've probably heard about. These fabulous devices move forward when you lean forward, go back when you lean back, and stand still when you do. You turn by twisting the handles. All very simple. Here, Linda is preparing to prove to the eagle-eyed tour guide that she has grasped the essentials of the task by manouvering around the orange cones on the floor. Note that some previous rider has done a bit of damage to the cone. After a brief introduction, we took the Segways onto the streets of Annapolis for a quick tour of the historic area. Too bad no one felt confident enough to take a photo of the others while riding. |
