We had help from a friend of a friend identifying this dragonfly. I'll have to say that the photo in Dragonflies through Binoculars wasn't much help. We saw this beauty along Barton Creek near our house. Linda took a great picture with her Pentax point-and-shoot camera, but this photo was taken with my Canon Digital Rebel and a new telephoto lens, which has the nice feature of blurring out the background so it doesn't distract from the dragonfly itself. |
