On our way back from a pelagic birding trip to South Padre Island, we stopped for the night with cousins Glenn and Cherry Smith in Freer. The next morning, we drove around the ranch and saw a few birds and this spider. As usual for this species, she was sitting right in the middle of a large web, making it easy to get a good photo. This is one of the most often photographed spiders. |
