Politics

It was the year for politics, wasn't it? Jim took advantage of his retirement to devote more energy (and money) to the cause than ever before, but with the usual result. As a lifelong member of the minority, he can attest that it gets a trifle old after a while. Here are some photos of the year in politics.

Cats

We lost another cat in 2004: Sweetie Pie, unquestionably the most beautiful cat who's ever taken up with us, had to be euthanized when her kidneys failed. We're now down to two cats, the lowest count in years. We had to review the prior years reports to find out when Sweetie Pie first came to live with us. She and her sister are first mentioned in the 1993 Annual Report, where we mistakenly thought that Queenie would turn out to be dominant. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sweetie Pie always ate first.

By the way, the 1993 Report is one of our best, and well worth another read. Among other things, it includes Linda's Month to Be Right, one of the most popular items ever, and our only R-rated item.

Here's a link to the obligatory cat pictures.
