Purcell's restaurant near Brenham, TX, was the scene of a brief family gathering. From left to right: Linda, with younger Jim behind, Charles, Flo, Marion, Claire, Jim, Morag, and Derek. The restaurant, one of Granny and Granddad's favorite, for reasons they have trouble articulating, is a frequent choice for a meeting place fairly close to both Houston and Austin. It features an old-fashioned Southern buffet with cobbler and "soft ice cream" for dessert. It is certainly better than any alternative we have tried.
