About this photo:This photo was taken on September 11, 2002 at Hornsby Bend. This small spider was on the ground. Those "rocks" in the photo are actually small gravel. This was another example of the surprises you find when you blow up a photo. The green chilicerae that seem so prominent in the photo are hard to see when you just look at the spider. The green color shows that this is a male ready to mate. |

Identification: See 41L, plate 25 in Spiders and Scorpions of Texas. This is a common and easily identified spider. | ||
