About this photo:

We reached this waterfall by crossing a river on a rickety wooden bridge. Near this spot, Dion managed to catch a glimpse of a Large-billed Thrush when the bird landed in the field of view of his telescope. No one else got a countable tick view of the bird. David cajoled Dion into climbing up the side of the waterfall in an effort to scare the bird back into the open, but to no avail. (The bird would have been a lifer for David, or at least new for Bhutan.)

We planned to go back for another try on our return to the area near the end of the trip. Unfortunately, the bridge was being repaired and we weren't able to cross.

However, we got a terrific look at the bird from the bus. He landed in the road, allowing everyone to see the bird and its improbably bill. When it flew, it appeared top heavy from the weight of the bill. Sorry, no picture of the bird is to be had.
