We had reservations for brunch at the Commander's Palace on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Because the restaurant is located near the famed Garden District of New Orleans, we decided to ride the trolley into the district and follow a walking tour in our guide, ending up at the restaurant. We stopped in front of one of the beautiful houses in the district for a photo, choosing a spot that provided not only a nice backdrop, but a welcome bit of shade.
