Ocellated Turkeys were abundant at Chan Chich. They are not hunted, which seems to be all that is required for them to thrive. We even managed to capture a photo of two mating, but didn't want to get this site on any lists for displaying prurient material.

The colors of the feathers are amazing, especially when the sun hits them just right.
