We saw this young Fer-de-lance snake during a night walk from Chan Chich. This is the most poisonous snake in the area and considered dangerout. The pattern on the back blends well with the leaf litter, so the paths are raked regularly to remove the leaves. The head of the snake is quite interesting. It's too bad that it didn't cooperate for this photo. The snake was about 2 feet (.6 meter) long.
