About this photo:This shelter at Chan Chich serves as both a place for the guides to leave their gear and as a small interpretive center. It has pictures of the five species of cats found in the area. The pictures were all taken at night using automatic cameras located on the trails. Linda snapped this photo after we had finished adding the Blue-crowned Motmot to the trip list for our last bird. For the record, the five species of wild cats are: Jaguar, Jaguarondi, Cougar, Ocelot, and Margay. We didn't see any of them. |
