Large Buttercup, Ranunculus macranthus |
Date: April 24, 2005, at Deb Herczog's place near Driftwood, TX |

About this photo:Either this flower is not common in our area, or it is easily overlooked, as this is the first time we've recorded it. Despite the name, Jim's nose did not get yellow pollen on it when he sniffed the flower. There are many other flowers in our area that are sometimes called "buttercup," including the prolific Evening Primrose. That one will deposit a load of pollen on your nose. |
