About this photo:
After tennis on Sunday morning, I walked home from the club. On the way, I noticed a previously unphotographed dragonfly. Later, Linda, Charles, Amy and I set out to see what we could find. We saw a large number of what we believe were Eastern Pondhawks flying over the creek by the old bridge, but none we could photograph. We headed downstream, and managed to capture this image of a mature male Eastern Pondhawk. The females and young males are much more colorful; they were the common dragonflies we observed at the bridge. However, this fellow liked this twig so much that I was able to wait for him and get this photo. |
