We saw many of these dragonflies around the edge of Pond 1 West at Hornsby Bend.I was finally able to get close enough to photograph this one. In most way, I think this is a better picture than the earlier photo of a Variegated Meadowhawk, but it doesn't show the diagnostic yellow spot on the thorax. Still, we have it on good authority that this is indeed that species. Among other tips: they frequently light on the ground.
